The Course for the 24 Hours of Freedom will be made public by January 1, 2009. The course generally begins in Flagstaff and makes it's way south toward Phoenix. Sections of the route are on trail and back road, dirt road, frontage road and fire road. We currently expect that 75% of the course will be off of pavement.
The race course, beginning in Flagstaff will follow urban trail South towards Lake Mary Road. It will likely follow trails heading South and East towards Mormon Lake. Near Mormon Lake the route heads generally south on trails and Forest Service Roads, connecting sections of the Arizona Trail where possible. The Route continues South past Happy Jack and connects to the Moggollon Rim, heading generally East. The route continues south along dirt roads with some short paved sections, with the finish line at a large reservoir not far East of Phoenix.
More course details will be posted here.
